A glamorous model was savagely killed and dismembered by her former in-laws following her attempt to sell the multi million dollar luxury property she had purchased for them, a court was told.
Social media influencer Abby Choi, 28, who frequently mingled with fashion's elite in Paris, allegedly bankrolled her ex-husband's family's lavish lifestyle even after their divorce.
Her former spouse Alex Kwong, 31, alongside his father Kwong Kau, 68, a retired police officer, and brother Anthony, 35, are presently standing trial in Hong Kong, charged with her murder.

Authorities uncovered the mother-of-four's remains at a suburban apartment in February 2023. Her legs were allegedly concealed in a refrigerator, while her skull and ribs were discovered in a large pot of vegetable soup simmering on the stove.
The court was informed that tensions escalated when Abby attempted to sell the residence she had bought under her former father-in-law's name to avoid stamp duty. Her plan to move them closer to her children's school reportedly sparked menacing death threats.

Abby's devastated mother, Cheung Yin-fa, testified in the High Court that her daughter had called her ex-father-in-law an "old crook", "scum" and a "stinking b******", while describing her former mother-in-law as "ungrateful", reports the Daily Star.
She further stated that the parasitic family had "not even bought a can of baby milk for their grandchildren" or taken them out for lunch.
Testifying emotionally in court, her mother declared: "My daughter was truly good, so filial and well-behaved. She trusted the wrong people. This family repaid kindness with enmity."

Prosecutors alleged the accused embarked on a shopping spree for horrifying implements, including a meat mincer, before the socialite disappeared.
Abby went missing on February 21, 2023, after entering a vehicle operated by her ex-brother-in-law, whom she had employed as her personal chauffeur. Her ex-husband was reportedly concealed in the rear seat wielding a hammer.
Residents subsequently reported hearing the terrifying sound of an electric chainsaw emanating from the ground-floor residence, accompanied by a putrid odor.
Prosecutors contend the disturbing noise and smell were connected to the family's twisted effort to dismember and dispose of her body.
The trial revealed Abby had two children with her ex-husband after they met during their school years, before having two additional children with restaurateur partner Chris Tam Fong-chun.

Despite the relationship ending, she continued to financially support her ex-husband's family, even buying them another property and luxury items.
Alex and Anthony Kwong have acknowledged preventing the lawful burial of a body, but all three men deny murder. The trial continues.
